Founded in 2013 by Native Hawaiian artist Lisanne Paikai, Kaona Creations produces thought-provoking, immersive art from an authentic cultural perspective.  Each design is created with intention to accurately reflect and showcase the mana (power) and mo‘olelo (stories) of Hawai'i.

  • "‘Āinahau"

    This design honors the memory of Princess Victoria Ka‘iulani, for whom peacocks were favored pets.

  • "Mea Hou" In Depth

    This design is the
    artist’s rendering of God’s declaration:  “You have heard; look at all this. And you, will you not declare it? I proclaim to you new things from this time, even hidden things which you have not known.”  (Isaiah 48:6)

  • "Aka‘ula"

    n. Red sunset, looked upon as a sign that rain will clear.  Lit., red shadow.

  • "‘Ōlena"

    ‘Ōlena (turmeric) is highly valued in Hawaii for its medicinal properties and is also used to flavor foods and dye kapa.
